Prepping a Word Wall for Back-to-School Set-Up

A simple and easy way to visually display a growing vocabulary list!

I'm so excited to start my student-teaching quarter I have been crafting up all kinds of fun things for the fall, including this word wall bunting!

I think it is so important and helpful to have useful reources up for students, AND I want to create an environment that feels orderly and isn't over-stimulating. This word-wall bunting is the perfect in-between to pair form anf function in the classroom.

I plan to pre-make the word flags to go along with each unit, then I can pull it from my little storage bin and pin it up when I introduce it in class or it comes up within the content.

I am excited to put this up in the classroom and I'm thinking up fun ways to incorporate adding a new flag into our class rituals.

My main goals with the word wall is to build my students' social studies vocabulary and increase the frequency with which I see these words in their writing and speech.

Along with new flags, the items included in the kit are clothespins and string.

Do you use a word wall in your classroom? if so, please share any tips or tricks below!
